Milton Abbas Defibrillators
As of 6th July 2019 the Parish Council is pleased to report that we now have two Community Defibrillators in the village.
One is installed on the outside wall of the Surgery and the other is on the railings by the upper gate of St James’ Church.
In addition to Parish Council funding, these defibrillators have been partially funded by the British Heart Foundation and by Dorset POPP (Partnership for Older People Programme) respectively.
There are no locks on the boxes, just pull the top towards you to open. The door is alarmed and should only ever be opened in an emergency or for authorised maintenance.
Defibrillator & CPR training sessions were held in August 2018 and July 2019. 44 parishioners have so far been trained.
The following videos were shown during the training sessions, containing much valuable information and useful detail.
2nd Video – Dramatization, use of CPR and our Defibrillator
3rd Video – How to perform CPR
4th Video – CPR on children
5th Video – Details of our Defibrillator
7th Video – Real-life actual use of a defibrillator and CPR (WARNING, FOOTAGE OF A PERSON SUFFERING AN ACTUAL HEART ATTACK, LOSING CONSCIOUSNESS AND BEING RESUSCITATED)
