Milton Abbas – Tregonwell Almshouses – New Resident(s) Required – Applications from Relations of Villagers Welcome

The Tregonwell Almshouse Trust is looking for a Resident or Residents for a vacant Almshouse following the recent departure of a former resident to a care home in Sherborne. Do you know of anyone who might be interested?
Someone who lives in the village now or has lived here in the past? Or a relation who currently lives elsewhere and would benefit from becoming a Resident?
The historic Milton Abbas Almshouses have been modernised over the years with off-peak central heating and comprise surprisingly spacious unfurnished accommodation consisting of living room, double bedroom, kitchen and bathroom.
Situated at the centre of the village they are convenient for village amenities and activities; and provide a unique living environment.
The Trustees have traditionally looked for people who are retired or close to retirement age, live in Milton Abbas or surrounding villages, and are not wealthy. However, all potential resident(s) who have a need for this type of accommodation will be considered; as long as they fit the criteria specified within our Charity Commission promulgated scheme.
Residents do not pay rent, but do pay a contribution towards the maintenance costs, which makes an Almshouse an inexpensive proposition.
